Police Seek To ID West Los Angeles Burglary Suspect

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police are looking to identify a burglary suspect who they say followed a mail carrier inside an apartment complex before allegedly forcing his way into a West Los Angeles unit.

Los Angeles police said in a statement that the suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall Black male, allegedly entered the building in the 3400 block of Manning Avenue about 1 p.m. on Dec. 2.

Once inside, police say the suspect forced his way into a second-floor apartment.

"He took property belonging to the victim and fled the location," the statement said.

Police said the suspect weighs approximately 225 pounds and is bald.

He apparently wore a plaid shirt, dark pants, white shoes and a black wristwatch. Police also said the suspect was on his cellphone when he allegedly entered the complex.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to call West Los Angeles Burglary Detective Guevara at (310) 444-1522. Non-business hour calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.
