CHATSWORTH (CBSLA.com) — More than 4,000 customers in the areas of Chatsworth and Porter Ranch lost power Sunday evening.

A shut-down of a distribution station was the cause of the outage, according to DWP.

The power outage occurred at 6:50 p.m., said a spokesperson for DWP.

By 8 p.m. Sunday, DWP said power was restored to nearly half of their customers with only about 1,993 still without electricity.

DWP said they expected full restoration of service to occur between 4 and 5 a.m. Sunday.
