HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Part of Huntington Harbor was closed to the public Thursday due to a sewage spill.

The 800-gallon spill, which took place on New Year's Day, entered the channel from a storm drain at Heil Avenue and Algonquin Street.

The closures were issued for south and west portions of beach from Wayfare Lane to Warner Avenue.

Humboldt and Davenport beaches were both affected, according to the Los Angeles Times.
