Alleged Victim Booked After Shooting Two Suspects Multiple Times
SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A woman has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder after shooting two suspects Monday morning in South Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported at 5:26 a.m. in the 2300 block of 74th Street near Van Ness Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
"She's a very nice lady," neighbor Megan Faux said of the alleged victim. "She's a church-going woman. She goes to church on Sundays, (and) bible study on Wednesdays. So I don't know what could have happened. I don't know what happened at all, and I'm going to pray for her, and I hope that she's okay."
Investigators initially said she was an apparent victim of a crime committed by the pair, who are brothers. But detectives are saying it is too early in the investigation to come to any conclusion as to the details surrounding the shooting.
"It's very early in the investigation," LAPD Spokesman Richard French said. "She may have felt threatened in some way, but right now, we just have to look at all the angles and try to figure out what the motive for this shooting was."
Furthermore, investigators believe the woman may have been involved in a relationship with one of the suspects, both of whom were shot multiple times.
The men were transported to a local hospital and are reported to be in critical, but stable, condition.
