Man Apprehended Near Arleta H.S. After Earlier Report Of Pacoima Shooting

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday said they've taken a man into custody following a report of "shots fired" near a school in Pacoima.

According to authorities, the suspect dialed a 911 suicide hotline just before 3 p.m. to report that he shot two people and was possibly going to take his own life.

Following that report, officers descended upon the 9900 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Pacoima Middle School. They also swarmed the suspect's home in search of him.

The suspect was eventually apprehended shortly before 4 p.m. near Arleta High School.

It's not yet known whether a shooting in fact occurred.

No further information was immediately available.
