Riverside Couple Jumps From Roof To Escape Home Invasion Robbers

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A couple jumped from the roof of a two-story home in Riverside Thursday morning to escape from three alleged home invasion robbers.

Police were called to the home in the 1500 block of Macintosh Drive around 11 a.m., according to Riverside police Det. Rick Wheeler.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they saw a man coming out of a second-floor window to join a woman on the roof.

"The man and woman both frantically screamed, 'They're still inside,' as they jumped to safety from the roof of the house," Wheeler said. "The male was bleeding from an extensive head injury."

Officers then set up a perimeter.

Soon after, two male suspects were taken into custody. Another man was discovered waiting for the others in a car parked near the property.

The suspects, later identified as Ronnie Revell Barnes, 22, Millard Otis Brown, 33, and Denton Trevon Thomas, 26, were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault.

Barnes allegedly had a stolen revolver in his possession, Wheeler said.
