Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Dec. 11)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It was a cold morning, but the weather situation is improving.  A general warming trend is in effect for afternoon highs over the next six days.

There's a general off-shore flow setting up.  That means dry conditions and warm weather.  There will be some gusty winds from time to time, but right now those winds appear to be staying below the advisory criteria.

As a cut-off low moves over Baja, some clouds will rotate around the system into the area.  So look for some clouds but that's about it.

A dry front will move through the area on Friday, but aside from some more clouds on Friday and slightly cooler temperatures, there won't be much of a change.

The off-shore flow kicks up a notch over the weekend with temperatures approaching 80 degrees.  Look for cooler weather by the end of next week.  That's when there's the next shot at rain.

Basin - low 70s

Beaches -upper 60s

Valleys - upper 60s

Mountains - upper 40s

Deserts - mid 50s
