Create Soundtrack To Your Life With New App

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — If you've ever wanted to create a soundtrack for your life, a new app can help you do just that.

Joe Grano of Marina Del Rey came up with the idea for 'Snippit', an app that matches song lyrics to photos on iPhones, during a trip home.

The app allows the user to take specific, short samples from a song from their music library, attach a photo, and share the result with their friends.

The clips, which are four-to-ten seconds long each, are created by uploading a song, at which point the user can drag the selected area along a "song wave" to select the precise verse desired.

"So if you say 'Oh, I love that song, haven't heard it in forever', to download it, you press this button here, and then boom,  it gives you info about the artist and album," said. "And then you can buy the song directly from iTunes."

Grano says he, along with co-founder Sam Jurist, created the app with the interest of redefining self-expression with music.
