Police: Murder-Suicide Caused Deaths Of Simi Valley Neighbors Fatally Shot In Front Yard

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — An investigation into the deaths of two people fatally shot in the front yard of a Simi Valley home has determined a murder-suicide took place between neighbors.

The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered around 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 3300 block of Billie Court.

According to the Simi Valley Police Department, an initial investigation has revealed 59-year-old James Richard Wahe fatally shot 61-year-old Pamela McClain before killing himself.

Fire personnel were initially dispatched to the scene for a "man down" call and discovered the bodies in the yard.

Police said Wahe and McClain were neighbors, but had no other relationship, and there has been no known prior conflict between them.

Investigators said there is no known precipitating factor for the shooting, and no indication McClain had any interaction with Wahe before she was shot.

During the execution of search warrants at their respective homes, evidence was recovered, but there is still no indication of Wahe's motive.

The investigation is ongoing.
