Fullerton Couple Grateful For Healthy Quintuplets, Community Support

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — A Fullerton couple said they are grateful to have healthy quintuplets and the support of their community.

John and Meryl Ferraro said since Gabby, Riley, Addison, Cooper and Emerson were born one year ago, close to 70 people have volunteered to help care for them.

"I can't believe this year has flown by so much, and we're just so thankful for and grateful for all of our children," Meryl said. "No one says, 'Hey, I want to have five kids all at once.' They are so much fun."

The couple, who also have an older daughter named Gianna, said they count their blessings every single day.

"It's really a miracle, like, how five little babies and a big sister can bring so much joy and love in a community," Meryl said.

KCAL9's Adrianna Weingold said Meryl's pregnancy wasn't always easy. In the beginning, several doctors suggested fetal reduction, but the Ferraros said no and took their chances. After 32 weeks, Meryl delivered the babies.

"It really validated our decision to keep them, and it's been a blessing to have them be healthy," John said.
