2 WWII Grenades Found In Sun Valley Shed

SUN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Two World War II grenades were found Thursday morning in a shed behind a San Fernando Valley home.

A daughter of a recently deceased WWII veteran was cleaning out the shed, located in the 7400 block of Riverton Avenue in Sun Valley, when she found the potential explosives, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The LAPD's Bomb Squad has responded to the scene and determined they were inert. Authorities blew up the grenades as a precaution.

Police evacuated adjacent home as a precaution.
