HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man was struck and killed by a Metro Red Line train in Hollywood early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Paramedics responded to a call from the 6200 block of Hollywood Boulevard, near Vine Street, at about 5:30 a.m, according to Metro officials.

The victim died at the scene, authorities said. His name was not immediately released.

Metro passengers saw delays of up to 25 minutes after the station at Hollywood and Vine until about 7 a.m., Metro reported.
