Once-Missing Man Arrested In Burglary Involving Possible Charlie Sheen Sex Tape

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The man who went missing for three days and was linked to a burglary case possibly involving a Charlie Sheen sex tape was arrested Monday on suspicion of burglary.

Darwin Vela, 22, and his fiancee, Kelly McLaren, were arrested at about 11:15 a.m. by LAPD Wilshire detectives at a motel in the 5100 block of Century Boulevard, Los Angeles police officials said.

LAPD officials are remaining tight-lipped about the arrest and the alleged possible sex tape, citing an ongoing investigation.

Last Tuesday, Vela left to walk his dog, which came back about 20 minutes later without his owner and with blood on his leash. McLaren previously told CBS2/KCAL9 she instantly thought the worst.

"He left his phone, his wallet, his keys, all IDs, I mean, his passport is here," McLaren said.

McLaren said the couple was scheduled to testify Thursday as witnesses to a burglary. According to reports, the burglary happened at the home of Nicolas Cage's ex-girlfriend's house and may have included the theft of a sex tape involving Charlie Sheen.

"I can't discuss the case itself, but we were witnesses to a crime," McLaren said. "And without us, there is no case."

Police said Vela was found about 1:30 p.m. Friday in LAPD's Pacific Division.

According to reports, the burglary happened at the home of Nicholas Cage's ex-girlfriend's house and may have included the theft of a sex tape involving Charlie Sheen. Calls to Sheen's publicist were not immediately returned.

Vela and McLaren are being held on $50,000 bail.
