Lakers Hand Out Hundreds Of Turkeys, Pies For Needy Families

HAWTHORNE(CBSLA.com) Los Angeles Lakers center Jordan Hill and assistant coach Mark Madsen gave out 300 turkeys and pies to needy families for their Thanksgiving dinners, Friday at the Hawthorne City Hall.

The Hawthorne Police Department teamed up with Food Finders to select families who were in need of a Thanksgiving meal.

Throughout Southern California, Food Finders has helped provide enough food to provide an average of 39,000 meals.

Since 2000, the Lakers' "A Season of Giving" has helped out thousands of families throughout the Los Angeles area.
