MTV To Give Miley Cyrus 8 Hours Of Programming For Her 21st Birthday

LOS ANGELES (AP) — MTV says it has a special present for Miley Cyrus on her 21st birthday: She's getting the channel.

The pop star will host what MTV is calling an eight-hour "celebration" of her milestone birthday Saturday, starting at noon EST.

The programs include "21 Candles: Miley's MTV Moments," offering 21 reasons for Cyrus' popularity. It will be followed by a repeat showing of the MTV film "Miley: The Movement Deluxe Edition."

MTV said Thursday that Cyrus also will serve up two of her favorite MTV shows, "Awkward" and "Snooki and JWoww."

The singer-actress has been skillful at drawing attention for herself and MTV, including her controversial twerking at this summer's Video Music Awards and this month's MTV European Music Awards.

Cyrus also smoked a joint onstage at the Amsterdam ceremony.
