CHP Officers Nab Motorcyclist After High-Speed Pursuit In Riverside County

CORONA (CBSLA.com) — California Highway Patrol officers nabbed a motorcyclist after a high-speed pursuit in Riverside County Monday evening.

Authorities initially tried to pull over the suspect shortly before 8:20 p.m. after he failed to yield at Magnolia Avenue and Pierce Street in Riverside.

The motorcyclist, however, took off. He rode at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour on the southbound side of the 15 Freeway in Corona and on surface streets before he headed into the Lake Mathews area.

At one point, the suspect nearly crashed into a car on a roadway. He also rode through a shopping mall parking lot.

The rider eventually got off the motorcycle and tried to run away, but officers were able to apprehend him east of Vista Del Lago Drive and north of El Sobrante Road in the northeast corner of Lake Mathews.
