Armed Barricade Suspect In Standoff With Police In Hollywood Hills

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man who was described as armed and despondent held police at bay for hours in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday night.

The incident started around 7 p.m. in the 2400 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to authorities.

The man was reportedly armed and said he wanted to harm himself.

Laurel Canyon Boulevard was closed for several hours north of Mulholland Drive.

A SWAT team was called to the scene.

It was unknown if the man lived in the house where the barricade situation was taking place.
