Snow Summit To Hold End-Of-Season Celebration This Weekend

BIG BEAR LAKE (CBSLA.com) — Snow Summit is holding an end-of-season celebration this weekend to mark its final days of sightseeing and mountain biking in 2013.

On Sunday, guests can enjoy a DJ, live music, $2 draft beers, as well as a raffle with prizes from Troy Lee Designs, Fox, Bell, Girl and Dakine.

"The closing day celebration is our way of saying goodbye to another wonderful summer at Snow Summit, and saying hello to the winter season," Chris Riddle, Vice President of Marketing for Big Bear Mountain Resorts, said in a statement.

On Sunday, Snow Summit will give away free tickets for a Scenic Sky Chair ride or an all-day bike park pass to all active-duty military and veterans, with valid military identification.

Active and retired military personnel always receive a 15 percent discount on all regularly priced items in the Sport Shop.

"We are proud to salute our active duty military and veterans, and thank them for their service. We encourage them to come enjoy a relaxing day at Snow Summit, including a complimentary ride on the Sky Chair or a day at the Bike Park," Riddle said. "We also invite them to attend one of our many Uniform Days, which will be offered throughout the winter season at both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain."

Snow Summit will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
