Gunman At Large After Killing 1, Wounding 2 In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — One man was killed and two others injured in a shooting in Oxnard on Wednesday evening.

Authorities said the gunman remains at large.

Police were called to the area of 9th Street and G Street just after 6 p.m. Arriving officers found three people wounded by gunfire.

Meghan Reyes, reporting in Sky9, said all the victims were taken to Ventura County Medical Center.

Authorities said one of the victims succumbed to his wounds after arriving at the hospital.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Police did not announce a motive.

The victims' names were withheld pending notification of family.

Authorities told Reyes a "large perimeter" was set up to search for the gunman. Police did not have a description of the gunman.

Andrea Fujii said police were looking to serve a search warrant on the house the men were standing in front of when they were shot. They did not say if any of the men lived in the house. Police could also not determine if the shooting was gang-related.

Yesenia Navarro, a neighbor, told Fujii she heard six gunshots.
