17-Year-Old Arrested In Murder Of 49-Year-Old Oxnard Man

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Police have arrested a 17-year-old for allegedly murdering a 49-year-old Oxnard man.

The victim's name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

The man's body was discovered Saturday evening around 10:48 p.m. at a home located in the 1100 block of South L Street, according to Oxnard police.

Investigators determined the victim had been murdered. Detectives were able to identify a suspect and make a subsequent arrest.

Officials said they did not yet establish a motive for the crime.

The suspect, also a resident of Oxnard, and victim knew each other and police said the murder was not a random act.

The investigation is on going, said police.
