Traffic Officer In Serious Condition After Crash Near Griffith Park

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An LAPD traffic officer is in serious condition after breaking his pelvis in a crash.

The accident happened just after midnight Saturday in the 6800 block of Forest Lawn Drive near Griffith Park.

Investigators say the officer, who was on his motorcycle, broadsided a vehicle while heading home.

The injured officer is believed to be in his 50s.

He was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.

No further information was immediately available.
