All Lanes Of I-405 In Sepulveda Pass To Close For Construction Work Saturday Night

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — All lanes of the I-405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass will be closed Saturday night for construction work.

Crews will be pouring the concrete deck on the new on the Skirball Drive Bridge, Metro said.

"The contractor is going to have to pour the entire deck of the Skirball Bridge and they designed that as a safety improvement for that bridge. it's going to be seismically safer and a better design all the way through," Dave Sotero of Metro said.

Southbound lanes will be closed at 10 p.m. Saturday. The closure will stretch from Valley Vista Boulevard to Skirball Center Drive through 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Northbound lanes will also close from Getty Center Drive to the Skirball on-ramp at 10 p.m. Lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Sunday.

Detours:

  • I-405 southbound closure: exit Valley Vista off-ramp and detour south on Sepulveda Boulevard to the I-405 southbound Getty on-ramp.
  • I-405 northbound closure: exit Getty Center Drive off-ramp and detour north on Sepulveda Boulevard to the northbound I-405 on-ramp at Greenleaf Street.
  • To go south from the Skirball Bridge: take Sepulveda Boulevard to the I-405 southbound Getty on-ramp. To go north: head north on Sepulveda Boulevard to the northbound I-405 on-ramp at Greenleaf Street.
  • Sepulveda Boulevard will be open northbound and southbound from Getty Center Drive to the U.S. 101. The Getty Center Drive southbound on-ramp and northbound off-ramp will be open.
