Missing San Gabriel Girl, 12, Found Safe

UPDATE (10/25/2013) 5:02 a.m.: Beasley was located Thursday night.

SAN GABRIEL (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for a 12-year-old San Gabriel girl who has been missing since Wednesday.

Destiny Quashay Beasley was reported missing by her father after she failed to come home from Mildred B. Janson Elementary School in Rosemead, San Gabriel Police Lt. Brian Kott said.

Police confirmed that Destiny attended school but did not walk home with her friends as usual, he said.

"It doesn't appear to be any initial evidence of foul play," Kott said. "According to her parents, she (Destiny) does not have any history of being a possible runaway."

Kott said Destiny, last seen in a school uniform consisting of a dark-blue shirt and shorts, was disciplined at school Wednesday, but he was not sure if that had anything to do with her not coming home.

Janson Elementary is at 8628 Marshall Street, just north of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway and east of Walnut Grove Avenue.

Destiny is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has seen her or knows where she might be is asked to call police at (626) 308-2828.
