LAPD Hunts For Woman Allegedly Abducted By Ex-Boyfriend

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollenbeck Division are asking the public to help them locate a 22-year-old woman they say has been kidnapped by an ex-boyfriend.

The alleged victim and suspect were last seen near the 4000 block of Huntington Drive on Friday evening, around 7 p.m.

Witnesses said Karen Pineda was heard asking the suspect -- identified as 28-year-old Jose Luis Marin (AKA Jose Luis Marin Duran) -- to leave the area and that police had been called.

The couple lived together in the past, reported KCAL9's Greg Mills but Pineda had a restraining order against him. They also said he has been taken into custody at least twice for domestic violence cases regarding Pineda.

An investigation revealed that the woman and the suspect had been arguing and the man was seen pushing Pineda into his car before driving away.

"And no one has seen her since," said LAPD Lt. Carlos Solano. "In fact, we made contact with the mother today and they have not heard from her."

A friend and Pineda neighbor is shocked that Marin could do such a thing.

"I mean, that was her boyfriend," said Kara Corea, "How could he do that?"

Pineda is a Latina with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing an orange tank top and blue jeans.

The suspect is Latino with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet 7 inches and also weighs 170 pounds. Marin has a tattoo of a spider on one of his elbows, and the name "Matthew" and skulls on his back.

The couple was last seen in a Silver 2004 Nissan Altima 4-door, with a license plate of 6MPU056.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Pineda and Marin is asked to contact the LAPD Hollenbeck Division Detectives at (323) 224-0128.
