Station broadcasts live from the Los Angeles Sentinel

(KNX 1070) — KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO is presenting an exclusive, in-depth look at the rich heritage of South Los Angeles with a daylong series of special reports and a 10-hour primetime live broadcast as part of “KNX On Your Corner” on Friday, October 18.  Community leaders and other special guests  will appear throughout the day.

The public is invited to join in the day’s activities which will include live musical performances and free refreshments as KNX brings its broadcast operation to the headquarters of the area’s popular community newspaper, the Los Angeles Sentinel (3800 Crenshaw Boulevard).

Dick Helton and Vicky Moore anchor the news from 5:00 – 9:00am, Frank Mottek hosts the KNX Business Hour from 1:00 – 2:00pm and Diane Thompson and Chris Sedens anchor the news from 2:00 – 7:00pm.

KNX’s spotlight on South L.A. falls on the eve of the 8th annual “Taste of Soul,” one of Southern California’s largest family festivals. Talaya Trigueros of CBS RADIO sister station 94.7 The Wave will also broadcast live from the Sentinel alongside KNX from 5 – 9:00am.
