WILMINGTON (CBSLA.com) — Crews made quick work of a transformer fire in Wilmington Tuesday.

The fire was reported at a shipyard located at 920 Harry Bridges Blvd. around 7:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Fire crews coordinated with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to cut power to the transformer before dousing it with water, according to Katherine Main of the LAFD.

Firefighters applied foam and water to extinguish the fire, Main said.

No injuries were reported.
