Dry Ice Bomb Explodes For 2nd Time At LAX

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A dry ice bomb exploded Monday night at Los Angeles International Airport, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

Three plastic bottles containing dry ice were discovered around 8:30 p.m. at the Tom Bradley Terminal in an area that is not restricted to passengers. Only one of the devices had exploded, said Det. Gus Villanueva.

Airport police and a bomb squad cleared the items around 9:45 p.m.

No one was injured, and no flights have been delayed.

The FBI is investigating.

Authorities said there was no indication the incident was part of a terrorist act.

On Sunday, a dry ice device exploded inside an employee bathroom at LAX's Terminal 2.
