Man Accused Of Kidnapping Woman, Driving Her To Various Cities In O.C.

CYPRESS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a Cypress man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping an acquaintance and driving her to various cities in Orange County.

A statement issued by the Cypress Police Department identified the suspect as 24-year-old Jeremy Roy Curtis Turner of Cypress.

The incident unfolded about 1 a.m. Saturday. It was then that police say Turner met the unidentified woman at her home in Costa Mesa. From there, the woman agreed to let him drive her in her vehicle to a home in Cypress.

"As the victim and suspect left the Cypress residence, the suspect became upset with the victim and grabbed her arm so the victim could not leave," the statement said.

At that point, police say the suspect held a box cutter to the victim's neck and stomach.

Over the course of the next several hours, he then allegedly drove the victim to various cities in Orange County.

"During this time, the suspect also took the victim's purse," the statement said.

By about 7:30 a.m., police said the victim managed to flee the vehicle when the suspect pulled into a Starbucks parking lot in Westminster.

Turner was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping as well as a parole hold.
