MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A 24-year-old Manhattan Beach man has come up with a new twist on a very old tool.

Stephen Walden has created a new shovel.

This shovel’s shaft twists.

He said this new innovation makes his shovel easier to handle and it’s easier on the back.

Walden came up with the idea while working on his MBA at Loyola Marymount University. He said, “It’s such a simple idea,” he wondered why no one thought of it before.

Now he’s founder of Bosse Tools and he’s looking to raise $20,000 to help get his new shovel off-the-ground. (He’s already raised $40,000 of his original $60K goal.)
