Corona Daycare Worker Arrested For Inappropriate Contact With Young Girls

CORONA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives Wednesday were looking for more possible victims of a 26-year-old daycare worker accused of inappropriately touching young girls.

Miguel Flores, of Corona, was arrested Tuesday and booked on charges of kidnapping with the intent of sexual assault on a minor under the age of 14.

Corona police began their investigation into Flores on Monday after an adult contacted them about an 11-year-old girl who was reportedly molested while she was in the care of staff at Bixby Oaks daycare center.

"Detectives interviewed the 11-year-old and learned of specific incidents when the victim was alone with Flores," Senior Det. Andy Bryant said.

Authorities also learned of a possible second victim, an 8-year-old girl, who had allegedly been touched by the suspect.

"The 8-year-old was interviewed and was able to provide specific information about Flores as well," Bryant said.

Flores was arrested Wednesday afternoon as he left the daycare center on his way to pick up children from several local schools.

He is being held on $250,000 bail and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Thursday morning.

There are approximately 80 additional children registered at Bixby Oaks daycare, according to the Corona Police Department.

Any parents or guardians who think their child may have had inappropriate contact with Flores should contact Bryant at (951)817-5789.
