INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Two women were fatally shot and  a man critically injured Tuesday when gunfire erupted inside an Inglewood apartment complex.

The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday at the structure in the 11700 block of West Crenshaw Boulevard.

"Three adults inside the apartment complex, all three were wounded critically," said Lt. Jackie Layne of the Inglewood Police Department.

A neighbor told KCAL9's Dave Lopez about the scene.

"I rushed outside. At that point, I saw (a woman) running up and down the street. She was screaming, saying someone came inside her house and hurt her family. She was screaming at the top of her lungs," said the woman.

All three victims were transported to a local hospital where the two women, Crystallyn Nguyen, 18, Dora Lee Dawson, 68, succumbed to their wounds.

Datwan Henderson, 22, suffered two gunshot wounds and was listed in critical condition, officials said.

Police said some witnesses recalled one man running out of the apartment and possibly getting away in a dark-colored sedan.
