Inmate From Riverside County Accused Of Fatally Beating Another Prisoner
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — An inmate from Riverside County serving time at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, is accused of fatally beating another prisoner.
Brandon Scott Keen, 28, was placed in the prison's administrative segregation unit following the murder on Friday.
Officials said the other inmate died as a result of blunt force trauma to his head.
The deceased's name was not released pending notification of his next of kin.
Keen, who has been at Salinas since April, was serving a 26-year sentence for mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon.
The accused was a second-strike offender who was first convicted in 2008 for arson in Riverside County.
