Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Oct. 4)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are still on track for a moderate to strong Santa Ana wind event today.

The upper-level low continues to push to the southeast. For folks in the Rockies and the Midwest, this is translating into a big fall storm.

However, for us, there is a high nosing in from the Pacific and we will see much warmer temperatures and potentially damaging winds. The off-shore flow will also dry out our vegetation considerably.

Red Flag warnings are in place this morning through late Sunday. Those warnings are in place because of the gusty winds and single-digit humidity levels.

The biggest concerns with this event will be, of course, rapid fire growth, blowing dust, downed power lines and choppy seas.

There will be a break from this weather by Monday.

Basin - upper 80s to near 90
Beaches - mid 80s
Valleys - upper 80s to near 90
Mountains - low 50s
Deserts - mid 70s
