West Covina Man, 64, Suspected Of Sexual Battery Of Foreign Exchange Student

GLENDORA (CBSLA.com) — A 64-year-old man faced sexual battery and other charges Thursday following his arrest in Glendora for allegedly luring an 18-year-old foreign exchange student into his car and molesting her.

According to Glendora police, Michael Reza Dupont, of West Covina, allegedly lured the victim into a red 2002 Toyota Camry while waiting at a bus stop in Covina on Monday, Sept. 30, under the guise of needing directions.

Dupont then allegedly drove the woman to Citrus College, where she is currently enrolled as a student, according to police. When the suspect's car was traveling on Grand Avenue, Dupont proceeded to repeatedly sexually batter the female passenger, police said.

After the victim told the driver to stop and let her out, he initially refused and proceeded to Citrus College, where he then let her out of the car, police said.

On Tuesday, Glendora detectives set up a sting with a female police decoy sitting on the same bus bench. A suspect matching Dupont's description arrived in a grey 2013 Mercedes and parked adjacent to the bus bench and exited his vehicle, according to police.

The suspect walked around and appeared to be looking for the same girl from the previous day before he asked the police decoy if she needed a ride, police said.

Dupont was immediately detained by detectives and was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and sexual battery.

He posted $50,000 bail and is due for arraignment at Citrus Court in West Covina on Nov. 13.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Chris Farino at 626-914-8284.
