SWAT Teams Called To Banning Home Of Felony Warrant Suspect

BANNING (CBSLA.com) — Multiple SWAT teams were on the scene Wednesday after a man wanted on a felony warrant reportedly barricaded himself inside what is believed to be a bunker near his home in Banning.

Officers arrived to the residence at the 43000 block of Mesa Street on Wednesday to serve the warrant.

CBS2/KCAL9's Tom Wait reports the man ran back inside the home when approached by officers, who were told by a witness he fled to a bunker on the property.

The witness told officers the suspect had access to weapons in the bunker.

There have been reports of shots fired although no injuries have been reported.

SWAT teams took over for patrol deputies and were able to clear the bunker.

The suspect has not yet been found.
