Valet Killed, Security Guard Wounded In Shooting At Pico Rivera Nightclub

PICO RIVERA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man at a nightclub in Pico Rivera.

Officials on Sunday said the dead man was the club's valet.

A club security guard was also wounded when shots were fired outside a nightclub located in the 8800 block of Washington Boulevard about 2:40 a.m.

Authorities said a patron who was escorted out of the club was the shooter.

After the man was escorted out of the club, he later returned with at four associates -- two men and two women, according to Deputy Kim Manatt of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital where the valet died. Authorities said the second victim was listed in stable condition.

The gunman was reportedly captured after a foot chase. The suspect's four associates are also being questioned.

The gun allegedly used in the shooting was recovered at the scene, according to Manatt.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
