Each beach along the California coast boasts some sort of appeal to stand out from others, and Pacific Beach in San Diego is no different. The historic and beautiful Crystal Pier is a main draw, as it’s covered in beach cottages which are available to rent year round. Also located along the beach is a paved trail that is ideal for jogs, strolls or simply setting up a blanket for people watching. The two-mile beach is one of the most popular in the area. The downtown area of Pacific Beach is quite happening, even rivaling the popularity of nearby downtown San Diego. Garnet Avenue has many bars, clubs and restaurants, making it its own little nightlife hot spot.
The best way to navigate to Pacific Beach is going south on the 5. The straight drive becomes more pleasant as you near San Diego, as it rides along the coast. When you’re making the 115-mile trek, take a vehicle that will help make the drive as much fun as the destination. A 2014 E63 AMG S-Model 4MATIC Sedan from Mercedes-Benz of Encino is an ideal way to cruise through the city, and it’s simple good looks will turn heads on the highway.
