8 Hurt In Big Rig Crash On 60 Freeway In Diamond Bar

DIAMOND BAR (CBSLA.com) — A multi-vehicle collision on the Pomona (60) Freeway involving a big rig and three other vehicles left 8 people hurt Wednesday, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol received a call around 10 a.m. about the collision on the eastbound 60 Freeway at Grand Avenue in the Diamond Bar area, according to reports.

The big rig ended up off the freeway shoulder after it struck a Caltrans van parked on the right shoulder near where the 57 and 60 freeways merge, according to reports.

Los Angeles County Fire crews extricated a driver from the wreckage in about 90 minutes. The driver and seven other victims were transported to a local hospital.

Two right lanes on the eastbound 60 Freeway were expected to remain closed until at least 4 p.m.

There was no immediate information on what may have caused the crash.
