Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 17)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Patchy clouds have developed this morning, but many areas remain clear.

We are looking at a cooling trend as we make our way through the middle of the week. Temperatures will be significantly cooler than yesterday as a broad trough deepens to the south.

Look for coastal clouds over the next couple of days with temperatures running several degrees below average.

A ridge bumps in for Thursday, bringing those temperatures up just a bit, but then quickly retreats for the weekend. The extended forecast looks cool and it does appear the marine layer will become more pronounced by the weekend and next week.

Basin - upper 70s to low 80s

Beaches - low 70s

Valleys - low 90s

Mountains - low 70s

Deserts - low 90s
