AAA: Nationwide Gas Prices Exceeded $3 Per Gallon For 1000th Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The price of gasoline nationwide exceeded $3 per gallon for the 1000th consecutive day Tuesday, according to a report released by AAA.

The streak, which began on Dec. 23, 2010, will likely continue for at least another thousand days, the report said.

The current national average for regular gasoline Tuesday was $3.51, compared to $3.86 in 2012.

According to AAA, the longest previous streak was when prices surpassed $3 for 244 consecutive days in 2008.
