Coyotes Post 5-1 Split-Squad Win Over Kings

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Brandon Yip had two goals and an assist, Gilbert Brule and Rob Klinkhammer scored power-play goals 4 1-2 minutes apart in the first period, and David Rundblad had three assists to lead a Phoenix Coyotes split squad to a 5-1 preseason victory over a Los Angeles Kings split squad on Sunday night.

The teams also faced off at Phoenix in another split-squad matchup.

Guillaume Latendresse had a goal and two assists for the Coyotes. Thomas Greiss stopped all 15 shots he faced in the first two periods. Louis Domingue made 10 saves in the third.

Slava Voynov scored the goal for the Kings, who got 16 saves from Mathieu Garon.

Kings assistant coach Davis Payne assumed the head coaching duties for this game. Darryl Sutter was in Phoenix for the other.
