'Clemente: The True Legacy Of An Undying Hero' To Be Released Sept. 24

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Roberto Clemente Jr. visited KCAL9 Thursday to discuss "Clemente: The True Legacy of an Undying Hero", which will be released later this month.

Clemente and his family wrote the book to tell the story of Roberto Clemente, a former professional baseball player who played 18 seasons for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

A great humanitarian, Clemente was on an aircraft loaded with supplies for earthquake-stricken Nicaragua when the plane crashed in the Atlantic Ocean.

More than 40 years after his tragic death, Clemente's widow and sons are sharing his inspiring story.

The book features an extensive array of rare and never-before-seen photos of Clemente on and off the field.
