SUV Crashes Into Garden Grove Preschool

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — A woman crashed her sports utility vehicle into a Garden Grove preschool Thursday.

Around 1:10 p.m., police said a 29-year-old motorist accidentally stepped on the accelerator of her Toyota 4-Runner, instead of her brake, while she was trying to park and crashed into the wall of Sandcastle preschool on Brookhurst Street.

Garden Grove police Sgt. Jim Fischer said a teacher and three babies were inside the room the vehicle crashed into.

Lt. Kevin Boddy said no one was hurt.

"It was just an unfortunate thing," he said. "The biggest thing is no kids were hit or injured. It had the potential to be very bad, but we were very lucky."
