Light Quake Strikes Near Weldon In Kern County
WELDON (CBSLA.com) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a light quake has struck Kern County.
The USGS says the magnitude-4.2 temblor occurred about 11:50 a.m. Sunday, 12 miles south of Weldon, 25 miles north-northeast of Tehachapi, and 29 miles northwest of California City.
The quake, which occurred at a depth of just under 1 mile, was felt in Ridgecrest, Tehachapi, and Lake Isabella, according to responses posted on the USGS website.
A magnitude-3.6 aftershock followed about nine minutes later.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
