ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — Police plan to interview a 7-year-old boy Tuesday who was nearly abducted while riding his bike in an Orange County alley.

The attempted abduction occurred around 6:10 p.m. Monday in an industrial park the 800 block of North Battavia Street in Orange, authorities said.

The suspect reportedly grabbed the boy who managed to get away, Orange police said.

"The child, from what he was taught in preschool, started yelling out 'stranger danger,' kicking and screaming," Sgt. Fred Lopez said.

The suspect was described as a White man, between 30 and 40 years old, who drove a white or silver minivan.

Police planned to canvas the area Tuesday and review security footage from nearby businesses.

Anyone with information about the suspect was urged to call Orange police at (714) 744-7444.
