Man, 22, Poses As Girl To Meet With Underage Boy In Moorpark

MOORPARK (CBSLA.com) — A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly posing as a girl to meet an underage boy in Moorpark.

Jeremy Sears was taken into custody early Thursday morning for child luring and extortion. His bail was set at $50,000.

Authorities said Sears posed as a girl on the Internet in order to strike up a relationship with the victim.

Sears then arranged a meeting with the child at Mountain Meadow Park.

When the boy showed up, Sears, still pretending to be female, attempted to engage the victim in lewd behavior.

Later the same week, Sears attempted to extort sexual favors from the victim.
