Suspect, 21, Arrested For 2012 Murder Of Teen
OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Police in Oxnard on Thursday announced the arrest of a suspect in the February 2012 murder of a 19-year-old man.
Authorities said they arrested Carlos Eduardo Hernandez, 20, at 2 p.m.
Police said Hernandez murdered 19-year-old Edward Herrera, 19, in the 2000 block of San Benito Street on February 29, 2012.
Officials believe the murder was gang-motivated. They believe Hernandez was in a gang but the victim was not.
Hernandez has been booked into the Ventura County Jail for murder. Hernandez is being held in lieu of $4 million bail.
Oxnard Police continue to investigate this homicide and said additional arrests are likely.
