Man Allegedly Kills Sister-In-Law, Attacks Wife And Children In San Bernadino Home

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man allegedly killed his sister-in-law and injured his wife and two children in San Bernardino Thursday evening.

The deadly rampage happened at a home in the 2300 block of N. Davidson Avenue, San Bernardino police said.

Officers were dispatched to the residence just after 6 p.m. for a stabbing call and discovered that three family members had been attacked "with a knife or struck with an axe by another family member," Lt. Paul Williams said.

A neighbor, Jesse Marquez, said the man's teenage son came to his house for help, bloodied from cuts.

"I was watching TV in my house and some young man came knocking on my door covered in blood saying his aunt's dead call 911. So I called 911, come outside, see his dad with a machete covered in blood. His sister-in-law [is] dead," Marquez said.

Jorge Alberto Palomo, 46, was arrested at the scene without incident.

Palomo's wife, 49-year-old Sonia Palomo, and his sister-in-law, 61-year-old Ana Maria Ramirez, were transported to a local hospital where Ramirez died, Lt. Williams said.

Two juveniles were also treated at the hospital and released. Palomo's condition was not released.

"Evidence at the scene indicates the suspect may have also been trying to set the house on fire," Lt. Williams added.

A motive for the attack was under investigation.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective Steve Turner at (909) 384-5647 or Sergeant Robertson at (909) 841-5361.
