Truck Carrying Human Waste Overturns On Covina Street

COVINA (CBSLA.com) — A truck filled with human waste, which was removed from portable toilets, overturned on a street in Covina Wednesday afternoon.

The vehicle dumped 100 gallons of its load around 2:05 p.m. in the 20600 block of Via Verde Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Ed Jacobs.

Jacobs said the waste went into a storm drain, which required the state Office of Emergency Services and Department of Fish and Wildlife, in addition to Caltrans and another company, to clean up the mess.

The driver suffered minor injuries.
