Frank Ocean's Cousin Sues Chris Brown Over WeHo Parking Spot Brawl

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Singer Frank Ocean's cousin has sued Chris Brown over an alleged parking spot brawl in West Hollywood earlier this year.

In a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Sha'Keir Duarte alleges assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and conspiracy to commit battery.

On Jan. 27, Duarte said he went to Westlake Recording Studios to help Ocean with a recording session. When they arrived, a car was parked in a space reserved for Ocean.

Brown later came out of the recording session and Ocean asked him why the car was in his space, according to court papers.

The plaintiff claims that after he asked the same question, Brown, along with a man named "Hood" and two other people, inched closer to him.

"Hood" then reportedly punched Duarte, and Brown allegedly yelled the N-word and encouraged "Hood" to continue the attack.

The suit alleges "Hood" kicked Duarte 12 times.

Duarte also claims Brown yelled, "You just got your (expletive) beat and it's on camera."

In addition, the plaintiff said "Hood" told him, "If you want to bust, we can bust," which is street slang for using a firearm, according to the suit.

Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, called the suit "pathetic."

"It will be dismissed and we will seek sanctions against those involved," he said.
